This Week
The Broncos will head up the Peninsula for its next outing, taking on Dayton as part of the Stanford Classic. That match is slated for 5 p.m. on Friday at New Maloney Field. The tournament was also scheduled to host a match between the Broncos and Dartmouth at 11 a.m. on Sunday, but that contest has been cancelled, as the Big Green will not be participating in the tournament due to travel complications. The tournament lineup may change pending Stanford's ability to schedule an opponent for the Cardinal on Friday night and Santa Clara on Sunday.

In the Rankings
Rankings were suspended for this week, as almost all collegiate matches were postponed through the weekend. Santa Clara remains ranked third by Soccer America, and sixth by the NCSAA/adidas, Soccer Buzz Magazine and Soccer Times. SCU home opponents and 2000 College Cup participants UCLA, Notre Dame and Portland were ranked in the top five, while four other Bronco opponents also ranked in the top 25, including this tonight's opponent in California.

Up Next: Santa Clara/adidas Classic
Santa Clara is pairing with adidas for the second straight year to host one of the finest tournaments in collegiate soccer. The Santa Clara/adidas Classic, which annually features some of the nation's finest teams, is heading toward its sixth tournament. This year, the Broncos host Stanford, San Diego State and Southern Methodist, with the Cardinal making its third trip to the Classic. Stanford is 3-2-1 all time in the tournament, while the Aztecs and Mustangs will be making their first trip to Buck Shaw. Santa Clara has won all five of the previous Classic championships, most recently last season with victories over Wake Forest and Weber State. The Broncos are 10-0-0 all-time in Classic play, outscoring opponents 51-4 in those matches and notching six shutouts.

Live on the Internet
The Broncos' home opener marked the launching of two new features on www.SantaClaraBroncos.com. Fans can now follow each regular season home match with a live Internet audio broadcast and a live statistical tracker. By logging on, fans can receive real-time updated statistics direct from the official scoring computer allowing users to listen to the audio broadcast and keep up with the statistics simultaneously for the team's remaining seven home contests. Ram Fletcher and Will Saso will share duties as the voice of the Broncos with SCU men's soccer alumni Mark Wojciechowski adding color commentary.
