Bowen Named to Soccer America Team of the Week

OAKLAND, Calif. - Sophomore Defender Lana Bowen was named to Soccer America's Team of the Week after leading the Bronco defense in a 3-0 shut out of San Diego last week to open West Coast Conference play.

Bowen, of San Jose, has three assists on the year from her starting position at left fullback, including one against the Toreros. A week earlier, she assisted on the game-winner in Santa Clara's overtime victory over third-ranked UCLA.

Santa Clara remains at Buck Shaw and will return to West Coast Conference action this weekend against Bay Area teams, hosting Saint Mary's on Friday at 7:30 p.m. and San Francisco on Sunday at 1 p.m.
