March 25, 2005

SANTA CLARA, Calif. - Santa Clara sophomore forward Marian Dalmy has been brought in to the next Under 21 National Team Camp, U.S. Soccer recently announced. The training camp will be held March 26 through April 3 at the Home Depot Center in Carson.

U21 coach Greg Ryan, who recently returned from Portugal, where he coached the senior national team to the Algarve Cup title, is brining in 24 players to the camp.

Dalmy, a native of Lakewood, Colo., was a first-team All-WCC selection this past fall, and was also honored as a Soccer Buzz second team All-West Region recipient. She started 24 matches at all three field positions. Dalmy earned All-Tournament team honors at the SCU adidas Classic and had a strong night against No. 7 California, scoring a goal and an assist. She had another solid performance against the Bears in the first round of the NCAA Tournament, scoring a goal with less than 30 seconds before intermission with a header off a corner kick.

Defenders: Jen Buczkowski (Notre Dame), Rachel Buehler (Stanford), Mary Castelanelli (UCLA), Holly Gault (Kansas), Hayley Hunt (Stanford), Jessica Maxwell (North Carolina), Kasey Moore (Laguna Hills Eclipse, Calif.), Becky Sauerbrunn (Virginia).
