Angeli Named NSCAA National Player of the Week

Sept. 14, 2005

SANTA CLARA, Calif. - One can only hope that forward Jordan Angeli brought a wheelbarrow with her to Santa Clara because she needs one to carry home all of the honors she's received this week. It was announced today that Angeli, after scoring both goals of a 2-1 defeat of top-ranked Notre Dame and assisting on the game-winner against Fullerton this weekend, had earned Soccer America National Player of the Week honors.

In addition to the Player of the Week recognition, Angeli was also listed on Soccer America's Team of the Week for her weekend performance at the Santa Clara adidas Classic.

Angeli was also named the tournament MVP on Sunday following the 1-0 win over Fullerton and earlier in the week was named WCC Player of the Week, to Soccer Buzz's Elite Team of the Week, and to Top Drawer Soccer's National Team of the Week.

The Broncos will look to put another notch in their belts this weekend as they host No. 6 UCLA at Buck Shaw Stadium on Friday evening at 5:30 p.m. Santa Clara then travels to Berkeley to face off against No. 8 California Sunday afternoon at 1 p.m.
