2006 Women's Soccer Schedule

SANTA CLARA, Calif. The 2006 Santa Clara University women's soccer schedule was released today and, as always, will feature the Broncos taking on many of the nation's best teams as well as the annual battles against tough West Coast Conference foes. Keeping with Santa Clara's reputation of taking on "anyone, anytime, anywhere," 14 of the 20 scheduled matches will pit the Broncos against a team that reached the NCAA Tournament last season, including each of the 2005 NCAA finalists in the Portland Pilots and UCLA Bruins.

The 2006 slate will also feature 10 home matches at Buck Shaw Stadium, kicked off by the seventh annual Santa Clara adidas Classic August 25 and 27. The tournament will feature four 2005 NCAA Tournament teams in Santa Clara, Stanford, Wake Forest and Utah. The Broncos will open the tournament and the 2006 season with a 7:30 p.m. match against the Demon Deacons Friday, August 25 at Buck Shaw Stadium.

Other home dates to circle on the calendar include Friday, September 22, as the Broncos welcome 2005 national runner-up UCLA to the Mission Campus for an 8 p.m. kick-off, and a 7 p.m. Saturday night battle at The Shaw with local rival Stanford on September 30.

In another clash under the Buck Shaw Stadium lights, Santa Clara will take to the pitch against the 2005 NCAA Champion Portland Pilots at 8 p.m. on Thursday, October 19, in a highly-anticipated match-up of the WCC's perennial powers.
