SANTA CLARA, Calif. - Following a 2006 season in which she was named the WCC Player of the Year and led the Santa Clara women's soccer team to an outright WCC title and No. 1 seed in the NCAA Tournament, senior defender Marian Dalmy was named to the All-West Region First Team by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America.

For Dalmy it is her second All-West Region honor from the NSCAA, as last year she earned second-team honors.

The honor comes on the heels of a career year for the Lakewood, Colo. native. In 20 matches, Dalmy ranked in the conference's top-10 with six goals and six assists for 18 points on the offensive end, while defensively, she was an integral part of a Santa Clara defense that allowed only 0.67 goals a game and shutout 11 opponents.
