Johnson Named To Top Drawer Soccer Team Of The Week

Sept. 24, 2007

SANTA CLARA, Calif. - The Santa Clara women's soccer defense has played a huge role in the Broncos success thus far this season. Helping the back line is redshirt freshman Lindsey Johnson, who earned her first-ever weekly honor Monday as she was named to Top Drawer Soccer's Team of the Week.

The Phoenix, Ariz., native aided in the Broncos 1-0 sweeps of Arizona State and Arizona last weekend, to give SCU their fifth and sixth consecutive wins of the season and goalkeeper Meagan McCray her second and third shutouts of the season.

For the season, Johnson has dished out one assist, which was on Tina Estrada's goal against San Jose State, and has compiled a .600 shot-on-goal percentage.

The Broncos are now 6-0-1 on the season and return to action on Friday, Sept. 28, against Cal Poly. Kick off is schedule for 7 p.m., at Alex G. Spanos Stadium in San Luis Obispo, Calif.
