No. 11 Broncos Conclude Play at Stanford Invitational with Loss to No. 5 North Carolina

Sept. 14, 2008

Recap |  Box Score

Head coach Jerry Smith, on the game: "I think that North Carolina is a talented team and played very well against us today. I thought that there were some good moments in today's game, but clearly we are disappointed with the number of goals that went in past us."

Smith, on starting Lindsey Wicher: "Lindsey Johnson is still hurting from the injury she suffered at Notre Dame, we played her in the game, but we wanted to start Lindsey (Wicher) in today's game and I thought that she did okay."

Smith, on the offensive attack: "I think we created a few good chances in the game today. The difference was the quality of finishing. North Carolina had more dangerous chances and did a great job of finishing them, while we did not finish our dangerous chances when we had them.

Smith, on opening up the home schedule Friday: "We just need to get back to work, watch the game film and see where we can improve. After seven games away from home, we are looking forward to playing in our newly remodeled stadium."
