This Week For Bronco Women's Soccer
The Santa Clara women's soccer team will conclude the regular season at home this Saturday, Nov. 8, versus conference rival Gonzaga University at 1 p.m. Prior to kick off, the Broncos will celebrate Senior Day and honor goalkeeper Meagan McCray's four year career at Santa Clara. At halftime, SCU will recognize Bronco women's soccer alumni with an on-field ceremony.

Last Week For Women's Soccer
The Broncos concluded the road half of the 2008 campaign this past weekend at then No. 3 University of Portland. Santa Clara was shutout 4-0 by the top-ranked Pilots live on ESPNU. Senior Meagan McCray and freshman Bianca Henninger split the game in goal, posting two saves and seven saves, respectively. Both Bronco keepers each conceded a pair of goals in the halves they were in. One of Henninger's seven saves was stopping a UP penalty kick. SCU had five shots in the game, two off the foot of tri-captain Maxine Goynes and sophomore Anessa Patton.

Freshman Kathleen Matthew made her fourth straight start at defender for Santa Clara and played the full 90 minutes, alongside sophomore Lauren Anselmo, freshman Margueritte Aozasa and redshirt junior Dani Potts.

Broncos to Celebrate Senior Day
The Santa Clara women's soccer team will honor solo senior Meagan McCray's four year Bronco career prior to the last home game versus Gonzaga. Game time is set for 1 p.m.

SCU to Conclude 2008 Season
The Broncos will conclude the 2008 season this Saturday, Nov. 8 at 1 p.m. versus Gonzaga. This will be the first time in 20 seasons, under the helm of veteran head coach Jerry Smith, that SCU will not advance to the NCAA Tournament. This season the Broncos encountered a schedule with nine ranked opponents and suffered many season preventing and ending injuries. Santa Clara looks to build upon this season's bright spots and continue the Bronco tradition of excellence.

McCray to Cap off Bronco Career
Senior goalkeeper Meagan McCray will conclude her Bronco career this Saturday, Nov. 8, prior to Santa Clara's final home game versus Gonzaga. This season, the Novato, Calif. native has started 16 games this season and posts a 3-10-2 overall record. Going into this weekend she has a 1.63 goals against average and has 58 saves. This season she has been the heart of the SCU defense and a season highlight was shutting out then No. 2 UCLA on Sept. 25, live on Fox Soccer Channel at home.

Bosio Earns ESPN The Magazine Academic All-America Honors
Kiki Bosio was named to the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District VIII First Team for her outstanding performance both on the field and in the classroom. This is a first-time honor for the Bronco tri-captain who boasts a 3.89 overall GPA as an accounting major. Entering this season, Bosio was named to the M.A.C. Hermann Trophy Watch list. The M.A.C. Hermann Trophy is the highest honor in women's soccer and Watch list selections are elite players across the nation. This season Bosio has already been honored twice as all-tournament team selections at the Inn at Saint Mary's Soccer Classic, hosted at Notre Dame, and the Santa Clara/adidas Soccer Classic. She has one goal and one assist on the season.

A Season of Injuries
This season has proved difficult for the Broncos, as several players suffered season ending injuries. Entering the season, Jordan Angeli and Amanda Poach were unable to bounce back from injuries sustained last season and are redshirting their second straight year.

After returning to the field on Sept. 25, Courtney Lewis tore her ACL seven games into her return and was forced to miss the remainder of the season. Similarly, Kiki Bosio injured her LCL and was forced to miss the final five games of the season.

Scouting Gonzaga
The Gonzaga Bulldogs will travel to Santa Clara for their final game of the 2008 season. The Bulldogs post a 7-10-2 overall, 2-4-0 WCC record. Gonzaga's head coach Shannon Stiles is 1993 graduate of Santa Clara. Stiles played under current head coach Jerry Smith.

GU concluded the home-half of their schedule on Friday, Oct. 31, versus then No. 14 San Diego. The Toreros edged the Bulldogs, 3-2. Courtney Peacock scored off a Sheridan Jones assist midway through the second half, and Caitlyn Salo scored an unassisted goal in the last minute of the game. Goal keeper Lauren Ames posted four saves in the game.

Leading Gonzaga this season is Jones who has three goals, four assists and 10 points, followed by Peacock, who has three goals, two assists and eight points. Keeper Ames has played in all 19 games this season. Ames posts a 1.37 goals against average, tallies 76 saves, six shutouts and a 7-10-2 record.

Santa Clara leads the all-time series versus Gonzaga 13-1-1. In their last meeting on Oct. 25, 2007, the Bulldogs earned their first victory over SCU 2-1.
