Junior Bianca Henninger and former Bronco Jordan Angeli '09 were two of 32 players that received calls to participate in the U.S. Senior Women's National Team training camp in Ft. Lauderdale, Fla. from Feb. 3-9. The camp will serve as a precursor to 2011 Algarve Cup in Portugal and at the conclusion of the camp, an 23-player roster will be picked for the trip to Portugal.
The WCC Fall All-Academic teams were released today by the West Coast Conference and Santa Clara boasts 19 student-athletes on the list; eight divided amongst the teams and another 11 receiving honorable mention. Only one other school, Portland, placed more student-athletes on the conference’s all-academic lists than Santa Clara.

Santa Clara’s junior goalkeeper Bianca Henninger has been honored by U.S. Soccer as the Young Female of the Year it was announced today. In addition, for their excellence at the highest levels of the sport, U.S. Soccer named U.S. Men’s National Team forward Landon Donovan as the 2010 Male Athlete of the Year and U.S. Women’s National Team forward Abby Wambach as the 2010 Female Athlete of the Year.
