Bronco junior Bianca Henninger, playing in her first Women's World Cup match, put in an excellent performance in the USAs first match, a 1-1 tie with Ghana, on Wed., July 14 in Dresden, Germany (game story).

The USA will play Switzerland at 9 am Pacific in Dresden, Germany at Rudolf-Harbig Stadium.  The game can be seen on ESPNU live nationally and also on ESPN3.com.

The 5-6 Los Gatos, Calif. native led the Broncos to the Sweet 16 in 2009, losing 1-0 to eventual NCAA runner-up Stanford.  Last season she was named to the NSCAA All-West Region Third Team and earned a spot on the WCC All-Academic Honorable Mention Team.  She started 17 of the 19 games played and recorded six shutouts on the year.  

She earned first career NCAA Tournament shutout in a 1-0 victory over Michigan State in the first round.  She then saved two penalty kicks and scored one in a 6-5 shootout victory in the second round of the NCAA Tournament over Oklahoma State.

Henninger is member of the U.S. team that won the 2010 CONACAF U-20 Women's Championships in Guatemala to earn a berth to the 2010 FIFA U-20 Women's World Cup.  She started all five matches and played every minute, allowing just two goals.  Her first camp with the U.S. U-20s came in January of 2009 in San Diego.

She is the USA's most experienced goalkeeper with 15 U-20 caps heading into the Women's World Cup, she played in 12 total matches in 2010 including eight international games.  She has an all-time international record of 11-2-2.  Henninger has traveled extensively with the U.S. youth national teams.  She [layed with U.S. U-18s and U-20s in 2008 and with the U.S. U-16s and U-17s in 2006.  She also played with U.S. U-16s and U-15s in 2005; and attended U-14 I.D. Camp in 2004.
