Women’s Soccer to Play Twice in Nationally-Televised ESPNU Matches This Season

Santa Clara, Calif. – The Santa Clara women's soccer team will be featured twice on national television live this season, with both matches to be showcased on the road on ESPNU. Santa Clara is looking for its 11th College Cup appearance and 22nd NCAA Tournament berth this season.

Santa Clara will play at Portland on Oct. 21 at 8 pm Pacific live on ESPNU and then again on Nov. 4 at San Diego at 6 pm Pacific.

"We're always excited to play on a national stage," said Bronco head coach Jerry Smith.  "We always enjoy having an opportunity to showcase our team and our entertaining style of play.  Also, we look forward to the challenge of playing these two conference matches on the road.  Both matches will be important matches in determining our conference championship as well as determining potential NCAA seating and selection."

Santa Clara opens its 2011 season on the road at San Jose State on August 19 at 7 pm. It will play six matches on the road before returning home to open its 2011 home slate with defending national champion Notre Dame at 11 am on Sat., Sept. 11.
