SANTA CLARA, Calif. – After finishing the regular season with a record of 11-3-6, No. 18 Santa Clara women's soccer will host Long Beach State at Buck Shaw Stadium on Sat., Nov. 10 at 1 p.m. This will be the 23rd NCAA Tournament appearance for the Broncos.

"We're very happy to make the NCAA Tournament," said Bronco head coach Jerry Smith. "This is 23 out of the last 24 years for the program in the tournament so I'm very proud of that. I'm also proud of the team this year for making the tournament and we did well enough to get a home game in the first match. I'm sure the team will be looking forward to the game as much as I am."

Santa Clara, currently No. 7 in the RPI, will take on Long Beach State who is at No. 40 in the RPI. The 49ers finished the year 12-7 overall and 5-4 in the Big West Conference. They took down Baylor, another NCAA Tournament team, 2-1 in overtime at home. Long Beach State's biggest road win was at North Texas on September 9 3-2 in overtime. The 49ers were 3-3 away from home in 2012.
