SANTA CLARA, Calif. – Heading to the 24th NCAA Tournament in program history, No. 9 Santa Clara women's soccer hosts Cal on Sat., Nov. 16 at 1 p.m. in a first round match-up. Santa Clara finished the regular season 14-4-1 and 8-1-0 in the West Coast Conference. The Broncos won share of the WCC title for the first time since 2006 and the 10th time in team history. "We'd love to see the stadium full of people for our match vs. Cal on Saturday," said Santa Clara head coach Jerry Smith. "We want the fans to come out and enjoy our team and our seniors but also act as a 12th man. That can help push our team over the top and get past Cal. We would love to have all the extra support."

Another reason to come out is to see what will likely be the final home game for the nine Bronco seniors.

"This will be, in all likelihood, the last home match of the season for our women's soccer team," said Smith. "Saturday is most likely the last time to see the seniors play and to see a team that can score a lot of goals and is entertaining to watch. It's also the last time to see Julie Johnston on our home field and she's going to go down as one of the all-time greatest in the history of Santa Clara soccer. It's a great chance to see the team one last time at a home match."

Five of the nine seniors were honored with All-WCC selections, including Julie Johnston being named the WCC Player of the Year. Morgan Marlborough was named First Team All-WCC, Ellie Rice was Second Team All-WCC and Sarah Jackson and Allie Vernon were Honorable Mention.
