Meet the Future of Bronco Women's Soccer: Kat Uhl

SANTA CLARA, Calif. – Getting set to welcome the next wave of Broncos to the Mission campus, Santa Clara women's soccer welcomes Kat Uhl in the signing class of 2014. Uhl is from Hillsborough, Calif. and attended Notre Dame High School.

"I chose Santa Clara because it has everything I want in a college," said Uhl. "The stellar academics, superb athletics, tight-knit community, and commitment to excellence all reaffirm by belief that Santa Clara is a perfect fit. I have always wanted to attend a small school on a foundation of faith. Between the people I've met and my experiences thus far, I know I have found the right home. Santa Clara, in so many ways, exceeds every expectation and I cannot wait to start the next chapter of my life as a Bronco."

"What I appreciated about Kat's game is that, as a player in the back line, she is good at preventing chances for the opponent," said Santa Clara head coach Jerry Smith. "She is a very good attacking player from the back line as well. She's very comfortable with the ball and she passes very well. Here at Santa Clara keeping the ball is the number one priority and she will be a back line player that helps us do that."

Uhl was named WCAL All-League for her sophomore and junior years. As a sophomore she scored eight goals and had five assists in her first year on the varsity team.

Uhl played for the Mountain View Los Altos Lightning of the ECNL.

Off the field she was an Ambassador Board Member, a CSF member, and a Link Crew member.

In her free time she enjoys reading, sports, fishing, and spending time with friends and family.
