Women's Soccer Concludes Spring with Dominant 6-1 Win Over San Jose State

SANTA CLARA, Calif. – In the final spring game of the year, Santa Clara women's soccer had its best game of the season in a 6-1 win over San Jose State. The Broncos led 5-0 at the half.

Santa Clara got two goals from Maddie Gonzalez and one each from DB Pridham, Maria Sanchez, Kelsey Turnbow, and Janae Gonzalez with assists from Sanchez, Kelcie Hedge, Machaela George, and Alyssa Fiddes. Sanchez scored at least one goal in all games during the spring in her first action for the Broncos.

"This was a great final game to our spring season," Santa Clara head coach Jerry Smith said. "Gudrun [Arnardottir] saw her first minutes of the spring and it was great to see her out there again for us. All of the healthy players played in at least half the match. The players and coaches will now enjoy a well-deserved break from the field after a successful winter and spring where we saw some good improvement in key areas such as increasing the number of scoring opportunities per match.
