Nonconference Play Concludes for Women's Soccer at Cal Poly

SANTA CLARA, Calif. – Santa Clara women's soccer wraps-up nonconference play at Cal Poly Sunday at noon.

The Broncos took down UC Irvine 2-1 on Thursday night at home on a late goal after trailing 1-0 early in the match.

SERIES HISTORY
Santa Clara is 16-2-3 all-time against Cal Poly with the first meeting coming in 1981. The last meeting in 2013, was a 4-0 Bronco win at home. The last meeting in San Luis Obispo was in 2011 with the Broncos winning 3-0.

THE BRONCOS
Santa Clara (4-5-1) has scored 17 goals this year and put 59 of its 123 shots on goal while drawing 55 corner kicks and surrendering 39.

Megan Abutin leads the team with four goals and has one assist for a team-best nine points. Jessica Johnson and Megan Demijohn have both scored twice with four others scoring once apiece. Emily Hansen leads the team with two assists.

Sophia Brown has allowed 11 goals for a 1.42 GAA and has 35 saves for a .761 save percentage. She has two shutouts on the year.
