West Coast Conference Play Begins for Women's Soccer with LMU

SANTA CLARA, Calif. – Santa Clara women's soccer begins West Coast Conference action Friday at 7 p.m. vs. Loyola Marymount.

The Broncos concluded nonconference play with a pair of wins over UC Irvine and at Cal Poly.

SERIES HISTORY
Santa Clara is 19-4-1 all-time against LMU with the first meeting coming in 1993. Last year the Broncos beat the Lions 2-1 in overtime in Los Angeles.

THE BRONCOS

Santa Clara (5-5-1) has won two in a row and three of its last four with the only defeat coming 2-1 to No. 2 Stanford. The Broncos are No. 34 in the RPI.

They have scored 18 goals and put 63 of their 139 shots on goal while. They have drawn 69 corner kicks and allowed 43.

Maddy Gonzalez has scored a team-high four goals and is second with eight points. Maria Sanchez is tied for second in goals with three and leads the team with three assists and nine points. Kelsey Turnbow and Julie Doyle have each scored three goals with two and one assists respectively. Kellie Peay has scored twice with an assist and three other Broncos have a goal.

Courtney Ogren has started four games in net and allowed three goals for a 0.71 GAA. Ogren has made 12 saves for a .800 save percentage and has one shutout. Melissa Lowder has played in seven matches and made 31 saves for a .660 save percentage.

THE LIONS
Loyola Marymount's (5-2-3) only losses have come at the hands of ranked teams. After falling 3-0 at No. 21 Rutgers to start the season, the Lions went unbeaten in six matches before dropping a 2-1 match against No. 12 USC.

They have outscored opponents 13-10 but have been outshot on the year 141-108 with opponents holding a 59-51 edge in shots on goal. The Lions have allowed 53 corners while drawing 40.

Sarina Bolden is tied for the team-lead with three goals and two assists while leading with eight points. Sarah Sanger also has three goals and has added an assist for seven points. Phoebe Riley has scored twice while Skylar Robledo and Jill Farley each have two assists.

Charlee Pruitt has allowed eight goals in eight games for a 0.92 GAA and has made 39 saves for a .830 save percentage. She has collected three shutouts on the season with lee Erickson also picking up one in two matches.

Parking: For weekday matches, the Leavey Center lot, located on Accolti Way off El Camino Real, is free beginning one hour prior to kickoff. Any other parking facility on campus will be subject to normal daily rates or restrictions, including the main structure, located adjacent to Stevens Stadium on Palm Drive.
