Women's Soccer Continues West Coast Conference Play with Pepperdine

SANTA CLARA, Calif. – Santa Clara women's soccer stays at home to face Pepperdine Sunday at 1 p.m. in the second West Coast Conference match of the season.

On Friday, the Broncos posted a convincing 4-0 win over Loyola Marymount to kick-off conference play. The Lions entered No. 26 in the RPI and had just two losses, both to top-25 teams.

SERIES HISTORY
Santa Clara is 14-9 all-time against Pepperdine with the first meeting coming in 1994. The Broncos are a perfect 11-0 against the Waves at home. Last year Pepperdine won in Malibu 2-1.

THE BRONCOS
Santa Clara (6-5-1, 1-0 WCC) has won three in a row while outscoring opponents 7-1 during the stretch.

On the season, the Broncos have outscored their opponents 22-19 while putting 74 of their 156 shots on frame.

Maddy Gonzalez leads the team with five goals and is second with 11 points. Kelsey Turnbow has a team-high 12 points and four assists while placing tied for second with four goals. Julie Doyle has also scored four goals and added an assist while Maria Sanchez has scored three times and added three assists. Four other Broncos have scored at least one goal.

Melissa Lowder and Courtney Ogren have split time in net this season with Lowder starting eight times and Ogren starting four. Ogren has allowed three goals for a 0.71 GAA and made 12 saves for a .800 save percentage. She has one shutout. Lowder has made 38 saves and has a .704 save percentage with one shutout.

THE WAVES
Pepperdine (7-2-2, 1-0 WCC) is on a five-match unbeaten streak after fall at DePaul 1-0 on Sept. 8. In that streak, the Waves tied No. 1 UCLA 1-1 in Los Angeles. They have outscored their opponents 17-5 on the season and are yet to allow more than one goal.

Bri Visalli leads the team with five goals and 12 points while tying for the team lead with two assists. Devyn Gilfoy has scored four times and Joelle Anderson has scored twice with an assist. Six other Waves have scored one goal each.

Brielle Preece has allowed five goals and has a 0.44 GAA. She has made 38 saves for a .884 save percentage and has six shutouts.

Parking: For weekday matches, the Leavey Center lot, located on Accolti Way off El Camino Real, is free beginning one hour prior to kickoff. Any other parking facility on campus will be subject to normal daily rates or restrictions, including the main structure, located adjacent to Stevens Stadium on Palm Drive.
