Women's Soccer Takes on San Diego Saturday at Home

SANTA CLARA, Calif. – Coming off a weekend conference road sweep, Santa Clara women's soccer hosts San Diego Saturday at 1 p.m. in its lone match of the week.

On Friday, the Broncos topped rival Portland 4-1 and on Sunday went to Gonzaga and won 2-1.

SERIES HISTORY
Santa Clara is 17-8 all-time against San Diego with the first meeting coming in 1992. Last year the Broncos fell 1-0 on the road. The last meeting in Santa Clara was a 2-1 Broncos win in 2015.

THE BRONCOS
Santa Clara (8-6-1, 3-1 WCC) has won five of six while scoring 13 goals during the stretch. The Broncos have scored 28 goals on the season while putting 98 of their 195 shots on frame.

A pair of freshmen, Kelsey Turnbow and Julie Doyle, are tied for the team-lead with six goals each. Turnbow is tied for the team-lead with four assists and has a team-best 16 points. Maddy Gonzalez has scored five times with two assists and Maria Sanchez has three goals and four assists. The Broncos have gotten at least one goal from five other players.

Melissa Lowder has played in 10 games and made 44 saves for a .710 save percentage while picking up a shutout. Courtney Ogren has appeared in five games and made 16 saves for a .667 save percentage with a shutout.

THE TOREROS
San Diego (5-8, 3-0 WCC) has won four in a row after starting the season 1-8. The Toreros opened West Coast Conference play with a 2-1 win at BYU and have topped Saint Mary's and Pacific.

The Toreros have been outscored on the year 21-14 and outshot 194-75 with opponents holding a 86-37 edge in shots on goal.

Mason Summer leads the team with seven goals and has added an assist for a team-best 15 points. Kelsi Dantu has scored twice and four others have one goal each. Tara Meier leads San Diego with three assists and Mina Ghazizadeh is second with a pair.

Amber Michel has allowed 21 goals for a 1.60 GAA and has made 63 saves for a .750 save percentage. She has one shutout on the year.

Parking: For weekday matches, the Leavey Center lot, located on Accolti Way off El Camino Real, is free beginning one hour prior to kickoff. Any other parking facility on campus will be subject to normal daily rates or restrictions, including the main structure, located adjacent to Stevens Stadium on Palm Drive.
