Women's Soccer Wins Fourth in a Row by Topping Pacific

STOCKTON, Calif. – Santa Clara women's soccer won its fourth match in a row on Sunday afternoon at Pacific 3-0 behind the first multi-goal game of Julie Doyle's career.

The Broncos (10-6-1, 5-1 WCC) dominated the match, outshooting the Tigers (5-10-2, 2-4 WCC) 25-11 and putting 13 shots on goal while spending almost the entire game on the attacking end of the field.

Doyle's first goal came in the 61st when she made a long run with the ball and used her speed to get behind the defense. The Pacific keeper came out and was able to get a piece of the ball but Doyle got enough behind it that it continued to roll past the end line.

She added her second in the 70th when she put a move on her defender in the box before ripping a shot near post.

Maddy Gonzalez scored the first Broncos goal in the 19th minute when a deflection off the Pacific goalkeeper went right to her in front of the net.

Melissa Lowder had a strong game in goal, picking up her second shutout of the year while making six saves.

QUOTABLE
"I was pleased with the team's toughness today in picking up a good road victory. We're always happy to get a win and to score multiple goals but I was very happy to get a shutout. We had a number of people contribute to the win including Julie Doyle and her two goals. We've won four in a row, all on the road, while outscoring teams 15-3 so I'm very pleased with how we've been playing."
