Meet the Future of Santa Clara Women's Soccer: Vanessa Mejia

SANTA CLARA, Calif. – Santa Clara women's soccer will welcome Vanessa Mejia of Hayward, Calif. to the 2018 roster.

Mejia attended James Logan High School where she played soccer and participated in cross country and track and field.

She was a team captain for soccer as a junior and a senior and was the team's MVP as a sophomore, junior, and senior. She was first team all-conference as a senior and second team as a sophomore and junior.

Here high school team were league champions her final three years.

Mejia attended ECNL top-100 PDP/id2 national training and was on the Northern California and Region IV ODP state team. She also took part in the player development program for region 3/4.

She played club soccer for the Pleasanton Rage ECNL. They won the U17 Northwest Bay Area Conference.

Mejia was also named all-league and MVP in cross country as a freshman, sophomore, and senior and was all-league as a freshman in track and field.

In the classroom, Mejia was a scholar-athlete and named to the principal's honor roll.
