Meet the Future of Santa Clara Women's Soccer

SANTA CLARA, Calif. – Already stacked with young talent, Santa Clara women's soccer has added an impressive group to the team for 2018.

The Broncos will welcome five players from the state of California, one from Hawaii, and one from Oregon.

Kaile Halvorsen | F | 5-6 | Hawaii Kai, Hawaii | Kaiser High School
Halvorsen was a team captain as a senior. She was all-state honorable mention as a junior, second team all-state as a sophomore, and first team all-state as a freshman. She was also second team all-conference as a junior and first team as a freshman and sophomore.

Vanessa Mejia | F | 5-1 | Hayward, Calif. | James Logan High School
Mejia was a team captain as a junior and a senior and was the team's MVP as a sophomore, junior, and senior. She was first team all-conference as a senior and second team as a sophomore and junior.

Diana Morales | F | 5-2 | Menlo Park, Calif. | Menlo-Atherton High School
Morales was a team co-captain and the team's MVP. She was also named Forward of the Year by her high school.

Marlee Nicolos | GK | 5-8 | Elk Grove, Calif. | St. Francis High School
Nicolos played one year of high school soccer and played club soccer for the San Juan Spirits. In the summer of 2017, Nicolos and her team won the Gothia Cup in Sweden with NorCal PDP.

Brittany Pollard | D | 6-0 | Thousand Oaks, Calif. | Agoura Hills High School
Pollard was a team captain or co-captain each of her freshman, sophomore, and junior years before focusing on academy soccer has a senior. She was the team MVP as a sophomore and junior as well. As a sophomore and junior, Pollard was named All-Marmonte League Defensive MVP and was a first team selection as a sophomore while also picking up second team honors as a freshman. As a junior, she was also named All-CIF Southern Section D2.

Skylar Smith | M | 5-6 | Coto de Caza, Calif. | Tesoro High School
As a sophomore and junior, Smith was a team captain as well as being all-city and was named all-conference in each of her first three years. As a sophomore, she was team MVP, all-district, all-region, all-state, and All-America.

Eden White | D | 5-7 | Portland, Ore. | Cathedral Catholic High School
White was a letter winner all four years. As a senior, White was a captain and the teams MVP while being named All-Mt. Hood First Team Midfield and 6A Second Team All-State Midfield. She was First Team All-Mt. Hood and the Defensive Player of the Year as a junior and First Team All-State Defender. She was All-Mt. Hood honorable mention as a sophomore.
