SANTA CLARA, Calif. – Santa Clara women's soccer senior Maria Sanchez had a hand in leading the Mexican Women's National Team to the 2018 Central American and Caribbean Games title in July.
Sanchez scored a pair of goals, including the game-winner in the semifinals against Venezuela and was named Player of the Match for her efforts.

After transferring from Idaho State before the 2017 season, Sanchez led the Broncos and was tied for the West Coast Conference lead with six assists while adding five goals and playing in all 23 games.
