Bay Area Showdown Between No. 7 Women's Soccer and No. 1 Stanford Set for Sunday

SANTA CLARA, Calif. – Riding a three-game winning streak, No. 7 Santa Clara women's soccer heads to No. 1 Stanford for a top-10 matchup Sunday at 4 p.m. on Pac-12 Network.

The Broncos took care of TCU 3-0 on Thursday night to cap their homestand.

SERIES HISTORY
Santa Clara 20-22-7 all-time against Stanford with the first meeting coming in 1980. Last year the Broncos lost to the then-No. 2 Cardinal 2-1 at Stevens Stadium but the teams have split the last four matchups with each winning one and home and one on the road.

THE BRONCOS
Santa Clara (7-1) is off to its best start since beginning 2007 7-0-1. The Broncos have outscored opponents 16-8 and hold a 125-78 edge in shots while putting 52 on frame.

Maria Sanchez leads the WCC with six assists and Santa Clara with 12 points while placing second on the team with three goals. Maddy Gonzalez leads the team with four goals and has an assists while Kelsey Turnbow has also scored three times. Skylar Smith has found the back of the net twice and DB Pridham has a goal and a pair of assists. Four other Broncos have scored one goal apiece.

Melissa Lowder has allowed seven goals for a 0.94 GAA and has 26 saves for a .788 save percentage while starting every game. She has four shutouts on the year.

THE CARDINAL
Stanford (7-0) has gone to overtime twice but remains perfect on the year, outscoring opponents 22-4. The Cardinal have attempted 157 shots while allowing 50 and put 62 on target.

Catarina Macario is tied for the team-lead with three goals and has three assists for nine points. Jordan DiBiasi leads Stanford with five assists and has two goals for nine points as well. Sophia Smith and Madison Haley also have three goals each and Abby Greubel and Civana Kuhlmann have scored twice apiece. Seven others have scored once each.

Alison Jahansouz has started five games in net while allowing three goals for a .59 GAA. She has 14 saves and a .824 save percentage to go with two shutouts. Lauren Rood has started twice and allowed one goal while picking up one shutout.
