Conference Play Begins at San Francisco for No. 4 Women's Soccer

SANTA CLARA, Calif. – After concluding the most successful nonconference season since its 2001 national championship season, No. 4 Santa Clara women's soccer begins West Coast Conference play Sunday at San Francisco at 1 p.m.

The Broncos pushed their unbeaten streak to six (5-0-1) with a 5-1 home win over Cal Poly on Friday and a 2-0 victory at UC Santa Barbara Sunday.

SERIES HISTORY
Santa Clara is 32-1-1 all-time against San Francisco with the first meeting coming in 1985. Last year, the Broncos took care of the Dons 2-0 at Stevens Stadium.

THE BRONCOS
Santa Clara (9-1-1) has outscored opponents 24-10 on the year and 15-4 during its six match unbeaten streak. The Broncos have attempted 167 shots and put 73 on frame.

Maria Sanchez is tied for third in the nation with eight assists and has added four goals, tied for second on the Broncos, for a team-leading 16 points. Maddy Gonzalez has scored a team-high six goals to go with two assists and has 14 points. Kelsey Turnbow has scored four times with an assist and Skylar Smith has found the back of the net three times.

Melissa Lowder has allowed eight goals in 11 matches for a 0.81 GAA and has made 42 saves for a .840 save percentage. She has collected five shutouts on the year, surpassing her 2017 total.


THE DONS
San Francisco (7-4) has outscored its opponents 21-18 and has a 167-125 advantage in shots with 78 being put on goal.

Samantha Jehnings leads the WCC with nine goals and 19 points. Miciah Madison is second in the league with seven assists and has added two goals while Izzie Lueken has four assists and a goal. Three Dons have scored twice each and three others have on goal apiece.

Oliva Camera and Molly Eby have split time in net. Camera has started five games and allowed eight goals for a 1.60 GAA. She has 10 saves and a .556 save percentage with one shutout. Eby has started six times and allowed 10 goals for a 1.61 GAA while making 23 saves for a .697 save percentage. She has three shutouts on the year.
