No. 4 Women's Soccer Set for Road Matchup at LMU Friday

SANTA CLARA, Calif. – No. 4 Santa Clara women's soccer remains on the road this weekend, opening with a Friday match at LMU at 7 p.m.

The Broncos opened West Coast Conference action Sunday with a 3-2 win at San Francisco to push their unbeaten streak to seven (6-0-1).

SERIES HISTORY
Santa Clara is 20-4-1 all-time with the first meeting coming in 1993. Last year the Broncos topped the Lions 4-0 and have won seven in a row in the series.

THE BRONCOS
Santa Clara (10-1-1, 1-0 WCC) has outscored its opponents 27-12 on the year while playing one of the toughest schedules in the nation. The Broncos have put 84 of their 190 shots on goal while getting off to their best start since 2001 when they won the national championship.

Maddy Gonzalez leads the team with seven goals and 16 point. Maria Sanchez is tops in the WCC with eight assists and has added four goals for 16 points as well. Kelsey Turnbow has found the back of the net four times and added two assists while Skylar Smith and Kelcie Hedge have each scored twice.

Melissa Lowder has started all 12 games and allowed 10 goals for a 0.92 GAA. She has 45 saves and a .818 save percentage to go with five shutouts.

THE LIONS
LMU (3-6-4, 1-0-1 WCC) was winless in its previous eight matches (0-5-3) before winning at Pacific Sunday. The Lions have been outscored on the year 18-13 and outshot 148-122.

Sarina Bolden leads LMU with four goals and nine points while Skylar Robledo and Sydney Schultz are tied for the team-lead with three assists each. Jayln Lupa is the only other Lion with multiple goals (2) with seven others scoring once apiece.

Charlee Pruitt has started every game and played all but four minutes while allowing 18 goals for a 1.30 GAA. She has made 48 saves and has a .727 save percentage with a pair of shutouts.
