Meet the Future of Women's Soccer: Isabella D'Aquila

SANTA CLARA, Calif. – Santa Clara women's soccer will welcome Isabella (Izzy) D'Aquila of Mission Viejo, Calif. to the 2019 roster.

D'Aquila attended J Serra Catholic High School where she won four letters in soccer as a forward, scoring 101 goals and picking up 46 assists through her junior year. She was named co-captain or captain all four years and was named CIF Division I First Team her freshman, sophomore, and junior years as well as CIF Division I Player of the Year as a sophomore and junior. She was also Trinity League First Team and offensive MVP each of her first three years.

D'Aquila was named the 2017-18 Gatorade National Girls Soccer Player of the Year and State Player of the Year during her junior season. She was also named United Soccer coaches Girls HS All-West Region as a sophomore and junior and brought home Player of the Years honors as well. As a sophomore, D'Aquila was a NSCAA HS All-American and a high school All-American.

As a junior, she was also named the JSerra Catholic High School Female Athlete of the Year and All-WUA Girls Soccer Player of the Year. During her junior and sophomore campaigns she brought home OC Register Player of the Year and was named to the first team both years while being a second team pick as a freshman.

She played club soccer for the SoCal Blues and was a six-time conference leading scorer and champion. Her team won the Surf Cup four times with her taking home the Golden Boot each time. They were also two time USYS regional champions and again, she won the Golden Boot both times.

D'Aquila has been a part of the U15 and U17 US National Team. She has scored nine goals in 14 caps with the WNT in 2017-2018 while recently returning from the U17 Women's World Cup in Uruguay.

D'Aquila was also and ECNL National Champion in 2016 and 2018 where she also received the Golden Boot award both times. IN 2018 she scored 10 goals and in 2016 scored six times with two assists. In 207-18 she scored 51 goals with nine assists, in 2016-17 she scored 49 goals with 23 assists, and in 2015-16 she scored 28 goals with 15 assists. She was USYS First Team in 2015 and a 2017 NSCAA Youth All-American.

In the classroom, D'Aquila was named a scholar athlete and received a 4.2 GPA her freshman, sophomore, and junior years.

D'Aquila plans to major in Biology. She aspires to be in sports medicine or orthopedic surgery. She enjoys napping, watching Netflix, and hanging out with friends.
