Meet the Future of Women's Soccer: Claudia Ekelund

SANTA CLARA, Calif. – Santa Clara women's soccer will welcome Claudia Ekelund of Los Gatos, Calif. to the 2019 roster.

Ekelund, a midfielder and forward, played club soccer for the California Thorns. She also played golf for four years at Los Gatos High School.

Ekelund has two sisters, Ariana and Charlotte. Her mother, Claire, is the co-founder of her own company. Her father, Ronnie Ekelund, played professional soccer for Brønby, Barcelona, South Hampton, Manchester City, Coventry City, Odense, Toulouse, and the San Jose Earthquakes. Ekelund has been playing soccer since she was five and grew up watching her father's professional games.

In her free time, Ekelund enjoys spending time with family and friends.
