SANTA CLARA, Calif.
– Santa Clara women's soccer announced its 2019 schedule on Monday, featuring 20 games and 13 at Stevens Stadium. The Broncos will take on seven teams that made the NCAA Tournament a year ago, including one College Cup participant and another that fell in the national quarterfinals in penalty kicks.

"It's another great schedule for us," Santa Clara head coach Jerry Smith said. "We work so hard to get the toughest teams on our nonconference schedule and we've done it again this year. We have seven teams that played in the NCAA Tournament last year, five of which made it to at least the third round. We'll get tested right away over the first two weekends, which will help us see where we are. We also have some great home games. I can't remember the last time this many home games."

The season beings Aug. 22 against Texas A&M with a matchup against Oregon coming Aug. 25.

The first road trip will be Aug. 28 and 31 as the Broncos face a tough test at Wake Forest and at Duke.

Things don't get easier during a three-game homestand as Santa Clara hosts UCLA (Sept. 5) which fell in the national quarterfinals, Utah Valley (Sept. 8), and Arizona (Sept. 13) before playing the final nonconference road game of the year at Cal (Sept. 15).

The yearly matchup with Stanford, a national semifinalist, will be at home on Sept. 22 with nonconference play coming to a close with UC Santa Barbara (Sept. 26) and UC Riverside (Sept. 29) during a stretch of four in a row at home.

The West Coast Conference opener against reigning conference champion BYU on October 5 concludes the homestand. The Broncos will also host San Diego (Oct. 12), Pepperdine (Oct. 23), LMU (Nov. 2), and San Francisco (Nov. 9) for Senior Day.

The NCAA Tournament begins Nov. 15 on campus sites with the College Cup Dec. 6-8 at Avaya Stadium in San Jose.
