Despite a pair of starters graduating, the Broncos welcome back 41 of their 52 goals from a year ago, headlined by the eight from senior Maddy Gonzalez and seven from Kelsey Turnbow and West Coast Conference Player of the Year Kelcie Hedge.
Also back to a team that finished 2018 with a mark of 17-3-2, is Alex Loera, who along with Hedge, was recently named to the MAC Hermann Trophy Watch List.
Hedge, Turnbow, Loera, Gonzalez, Marika Guay, and Skylar Smith were all on the All-WCC teams in 2018 and are expected to play a big role again in 2019 as Santa Clara looks to make its 29th NCAA Tournament.
The season begins August 22 as the Broncos host Texas A&M at 7:30 p.m. before welcoming Oregon three days later at 1 p.m.
