Women's Soccer Returns Home To Battle No. 2 UCLA

SANTA CLARA, Calif.– Santa Clara women's soccer returns home to take on No. 2 UCLA Thursday at 7:30 p.m. in the first of a three-game homestand.

The Broncos had a pair of tough losses on the road last week, falling at Wake Forest 2-1 and at No. 10 Duke 3-2 in overtime.

SERIES HISTORY
Santa Clara is 5-5-2 all-time against UCLA with the first meeting coming in 1994. In 2017, the Bruins topped the Broncos 4-2 in Los Angeles.

THE BRONCOS
Santa Clara (1-3) has scored nine goals while outshooting opponents 62-38 with a 33-23 edge in shots on goal. The Broncos have also earned 36 corner kicks with allowing just eight.

True freshman Izzy D'Aquila leads the team with five goals and 11 points. Alex Loera has found the back of the net twice with Kelsey Turnbow and Marika Guay each scoring once. Turnbow and Kelcie Hedge have each added two assists with six others adding one apiece.

Courtney Ogren has started all four games and made 13 saves.

THE BRUINS
UCLA (4-0) has outscored its opponents 8-1 on the year and hold the edge in shots at 57-24. The Bruins also have a 35-8 lead in shots on goal and a 28-11 advantage in corners.

Mia Fishel and Jessie Fleming lead a balance offensive attack with two goals each and four others scoring once each. Ashley Sanchez had a team-high three assists with six other players adding one apiece.

Teagan Michah has played every minute and allowed one goal for a 0.25 GAA. She has seven saves and a .875 save percentage with three shutouts.

MATCH PROMOTIONS
The Bronco Athletic Fund will host a donor appreciation night prior to the game.

BAF members receive up to four complimentary tickets to the game with light appetizers and beverages in the Stevens Stadium suite. There will also be halftime recognition of all BAF members.

PARKING
For weekday matches, the Leavey Center lot (see below for access), located on Accolti Way off El Camino Real, is free beginning one hour prior to kickoff. Any other parking facility on campus will be subject to normal daily rates or restrictions, including the main structure, located adjacent to Stevens Stadium on Palm Drive. The construction of the Stephen C. and Patricia A. Schott Athletic Excellence Center has necessitated the closure of the main entrance (off Accolti Way) to the Leavey Center parking lot. Access is now ONLY directly from El Camino Real (Route 82). If you are traveling east on El Camino Real, the Leavey lot entrance will be approximately 150 yards on the right (enter through the black iron gate) after you pass the main campus entrance. If you are traveling west on El Camino, make a u-turn at the main campus entrance at Palm Drive/Railroad Ave and follow the same directions.
