Women's Soccer Hosts No. 3 Stanford Sunday Night

SANTA CLARA, Calif.– Santa Clara women's soccer returns home to begin a four-match homestand against rival No. 3 Stanford Sunday at 7 p.m.

Last week, the Broncos played the final two teams in the country that were yet to allow a goal and snapped both streaks. They topped Arizonaat home Thursday 4-0 but fell at Cal2-1 Sunday.

SERIES HISTORY
Santa Clara is 20-22-8 all-time against Stanford with the first meeting coming in 1980. Last year the Broncos went to then-No. 1 Stanford and snapped the Cardinal's 29-match winning streak with a 1-1 draw. In the last five meetings, the teams are 2-2-1 against each other.

THE BRONCOS
Santa Clara (4-4) has outscored its opponents 20-9 on the year while holding a 105-61 edge in shots and a 56-36 lead in shots on goal.

Izzy D'Aquila is tied for seventh in the country and second among freshmen with eight goals on the season. Kelsey Turnbow's six assists are tied for eighth in the nation and she is second on the team with five goals. Kelcie Hedge has added four assists with Julie Doyle and Machaela George each chipping in three.

Courtney Ogren has started all eight matches in net and has 29 saves with a pair of solo shutouts and one combined.

THE CARDINAL
Stanford (6-1) is third in the country with 3.86 goals scored per game and has outscored its opponents 27-4. The Cardinal have a 169-28 lead in shots and 81-13 in shots on frame.

Catarina Macario is tied for second nationally with nine goals and is tied for the team lead with five assists for a team leading 23 points. Carly Malatskey has found the back of the net five times with two assists. Madison Haley has five assists to tie with Macario and has added two goals as well. Eleven Stanford players have scored at least once.

Lauren Rood and Katie Meyer have split starts in goal. Rood has started four games and allowed two goals and made seven saves. Meyer has started three games and allowed a goal while making two saves. As a team, Stanford has three shutouts.

PARKING
For weekday matches, the Leavey Center lot (see below for access), located on Accolti Way off El Camino Real, is free beginning one hour prior to kickoff. Any other parking facility on campus will be subject to normal daily rates or restrictions, including the main structure, located adjacent to Stevens Stadium on Palm Drive. The construction of the Stephen C. and Patricia A. Schott Athletic Excellence Center has necessitated the closure of the main entrance (off Accolti Way) to the Leavey Center parking lot. Access is now ONLY directly from El Camino Real (Route 82). If you are traveling east on El Camino Real, the Leavey lot entrance will be approximately 150 yards on the right (enter through the black iron gate) after you pass the main campus entrance. If you are traveling west on El Camino, make a u-turn at the main campus entrance at Palm Drive/Railroad Ave and follow the same directions.
