Final Week of Nonconference Play Begins for Women's Soccer Thursday with UC Santa Barbara

SANTA CLARA, Calif. – Santa Clara women's soccer, No. 22 in the RPI, begins the final week of nonconference play with a visit from UC Santa Barbara Thursday at 7 p.m.

The Broncos dropped their only game of the week to No. 3 Stanford Sunday.

SERIES HISTORY
Santa Clara is 11-7-4 all-time against UC Santa Barbara with the first meeting coming in 1982. Last season the Broncos won 2-0 in Santa Barbara.

THE BRONCOS
Santa Clara (4-5) is outscoring is opponents 23-15 on the season with a 128-86 edge in shots and a 65-51 edge in shots on goal. The Broncos lead the WCC with 23 goals and 27 assists.

Izzy D'Aquila is tied for 13th in the country with eight goals and is second nationally among freshmen. Kelsey Turnbow's six assists and tied for 12th in the nation and she is second on the team with six goals. D'Aquila and Turnbow's 18 points lead the WCC. Kelcie Hedge has four assists with Julie Doyle and Machaela George each have three with George scoring twice.

Courtney Ogren has started every game in net and has made 35 saves while collecting a pair of shutouts.

THE GAUCHOS
UC Santa Barbara (3-2-3) has outscored its opponents 13-8 while outshooting foes 91-85 and 41-35 in shots on target.

Shaelan Murison has a team-high seven goals and 16 points. She is tied with two others for the team lead with two assists. Two other Gauchos have two goals apiece and two others have one each.

Hanna DeWeese has played every minute this season and has allowed eight goals for a 0.92 GAA. She has 27 saves and a .771 save percentage with three shutouts.

PARKING
For weekday matches, the Leavey Center lot (see below for access), located on Accolti Way off El Camino Real, is free beginning one hour prior to kickoff. Any other parking facility on campus will be subject to normal daily rates or restrictions, including the main structure, located adjacent to Stevens Stadium on Palm Drive. The construction of the Stephen C. and Patricia A. Schott Athletic Excellence Center has necessitated the closure of the main entrance (off Accolti Way) to the Leavey Center parking lot. Access is now ONLY directly from El Camino Real (Route 82). If you are traveling east on El Camino Real, the Leavey lot entrance will be approximately 150 yards on the right (enter through the black iron gate) after you pass the main campus entrance. If you are traveling west on El Camino, make a u-turn at the main campus entrance at Palm Drive/Railroad Ave and follow the same directions.
