Nonconference Play Concludes for Women's Soccer With UC Riverside Sunday

SANTA CLARA, Calif. – Santa Clara women's soccer finishes nonconference play with a visit from UC Riverside Sunday at 1 p.m.

The Broncos began the final week of nonconference action with a 2-0 win over UC Santa Barbara Thursday night.

SERIES HISTORY
Santa Clara is 1-0 all-time against UC Riverside with the only other meeting coming in 2012. The Bronco won that matchup 3-0 at then-Buck Shaw Stadium.

THE BRONCOS
Santa Clara (5-5) is outscoring its opponents 25-15 on the year and has yet to be shutout. The Broncos have also outshot teams 146-95 with a 73-54 edge in shots on goal. They have 31 assists on the year, good for fifth in the NCAA.

Izzy D'Aquila is tied for the national lead in goals and goals by a freshman with 10 tallies and is fifth national with 22 points. Kelsey Turnbow is second in the country with eight assists and ninth with 20 points. Her six goals are second on the team. Alex Loera and Machaela George have both scored twice and added three assists. Kelcie Hedge has one goal and four assists.

Courtney Ogren has started all 10 games while making 38 saves and picking up three solo shutouts and one shared.

THE HIGHLANDERS
UC Riverside (2-6-1) has been outscored on the season 17-5 and outshot 116-65. The Highlanders have put 26 shots on frame and allowed 53.

Alexis Vera leads the team with two goals with three others adding one each. Amanda Roy has a team leading two assists and six others have each added one.

Annie Bailey has started six games and made 24 saves with Caela Kaio starting three times and making 14 saves.

PARKING
For weekday matches, the Leavey Center lot (see below for access), located on Accolti Way off El Camino Real, is free beginning one hour prior to kickoff. Any other parking facility on campus will be subject to normal daily rates or restrictions, including the main structure, located adjacent to Stevens Stadium on Palm Drive. The construction of the Stephen C. and Patricia A. Schott Athletic Excellence Center has necessitated the closure of the main entrance (off Accolti Way) to the Leavey Center parking lot. Access is now ONLY directly from El Camino Real (Route 82). If you are traveling east on El Camino Real, the Leavey lot entrance will be approximately 150 yards on the right (enter through the black iron gate) after you pass the main campus entrance. If you are traveling west on El Camino, make a u-turn at the main campus entrance at Palm Drive/Railroad Ave and follow the same directions.
