LOS ANGELES – Pushing the unbeaten streak to 13 (11-0-2), No. 20 Santa Clara women's soccer advanced to the third round of the NCAA Tournament with a 3-1 win over No. 13 Oklahoma State on the campus of USC Friday afternoon.

The Broncos (15-5-2) dominated and were on the front foot for nearly the entire game and two first half goals in less than a minute were more than enough. Santa Clara outshot the Cowgirls (16-3-3) 20-4 and 4-2 in shots on target in the second-round match. The three goals were the most Oklahoma State had given up all year.

Santa Clara struck first in the 20th minute and took a 1-0 lead. Kelcie Hedge found Kelsey Turnbow who took some touches before blasting a perfect left-footed shot into the right side of the goal from just outside the box.

Less than a minute later, Turnbow was taken down in the box and Kim Rodriguez was issued a red card for the play. Julie Doyle converted the penalty kick in the 21st to give her team a 2-0 lead.

Izzy D'Aquila made Santa Clara history in the 55th minute with her 15th goal of the year to make it a 3-0 lead. Alex Loera and Hedge connected on passes to D'Aquila who got in the box and hit a perfect shot inside the left post. The tally tied her with Mikka Hansen's 1993 season for the most goals in a season by a freshman in program history.
