SANTA CLARA, Calif. – Santa Clara women's soccer has added Lucy Mitchell as a transfer from Notre Dame. She played for the Fighting Irish in the fall and will be eligible to play as a sophomore for the Broncos in during the Fall 2021 season.
Mitchell, a freshman, is from Alpharetta, Ga. and attended Wesleyan School where she was a two-time Georgia state champion (2016, 2018). She was the team MVP during both title runs and in 2016 set school record for most goals in a season and most points per game in a season. Mitchell was also named All-State and USA Today All-America in 2019.
Mitchell also has experience with the US National Development program. She was a member of multiple USWNT from 2016-18 and took part in the ODP National Training Camp in 2016.
She played club for Concorde Fire Soccer Club and was the 2018-19 ECNL SE Player of the Year and named to the ECNL All-America team. Mitchell was a four-time ECNL co-team captain (U15-18).
