Women's Soccer To Host Cal in NCAA Tournament

SANTA CLARA, Calif. – For the 32nd time in program history, Santa Clara women's soccer is headed to the NCAA Tournament.

The eighth-seeded Broncos will host Cal Saturday at 1 p.m. Tickets can be purchased here.

Santa Clara clinched its third consecutive West Coast Conference title with a comeback 2-1 win at Pepperdine on Saturday to finish the season 10-6-3 overall and 7-0-2 in WCC action. The Broncos have dominated the WCC over the past four seasons, going a combined 29-1-4.

During their dominant run during league play in 2022, Santa Clara outscored opponents 19-4 and shutout BYU in Provo, a feat not accomplished since then-No. 1 Stanford in 2018, a span of 40 matches. The Broncos clinched their title with a comeback 2-1 win at Pepperdine on Saturday.

The team is led by Izzy D'Aquila and her career-high 18 goals which is tied for second in the country. Farrah Walters checks in with five goals and four assists with Colby Barnett adding two goals and a team-high eight assists. Annie Karich had assisted on seven goals with Alyssa Bourgeois adding four, Marissa Bubnis three, Isabel Dehakiz two, and Keren Goor, Lucy Mitchell, Makoto Nezu, Lia Henkelmann, and Marlee Nicolos one each. Dehakiz and Goor have also added a goal with Ellie Glenn, Karly Reeves, and Cianna Elmazaj finding the back of the net as well.

In net, Nicolos has appeared in 15 games and made 35 saves with six shutouts. She has a .778 save percentage and a 0.72 GAA.
