STANFORD, Calif. - The Santa Clara University softball team lost to Pacific 2-0 this morning in the first day of action at the Stanford Invitational, hosted by 10th ranked Stanford at the Boyd and Jill Smith Family Stadium. The Cardinal defeated the Broncos 5-0 in the afternoon contest.

Senior pitcher Jaime Forman-Lau recorded the loss in the first game against Pacific and sophomore pitcher Liz Courter took the loss in the second game against Stanford.

"We competed really well with them, but we just haven't put any hits together to score some runs, so that is definitely where we are lacking right now," head coach Marcy Crouch said.

The Broncos return to action tomorrow morning at 11 a.m. against Missouri. Santa Clara will play again at either 3 p.m. or 5 p.m. depending on the outcome of that match.
