SANTA CLARA, Calif. - The Santa Clara softball team will host the University of San Diego Toreros this weekend as they continue PCSC play. The Broncos are currently tied for third place with a 2-2 conference record after splitting two doubleheaders with Saint Mary's last weekend. The Toreros are all alone at the bottom of the standings in 6th place in the PCSC after going 1-3 two weeks ago against LMU.

Last weekend, the Broncos were engergized by some big hits. In game two of Saturday's doubleheader, Nori Kamada hit two home runs, including a walkoff grand slam to give the Broncos an 8-7 victory. For the series, Kamada was 5-for-12, including a 2-for-3 performance in that final game in which she hit two home runs and collected all five of her RBIs, earning her a nomination for PCSC Player of the Week.

Other key offensive contributors included senior Sara Overmier, who went 5-for-11 with a home run and four RBIs, and junior Jackie Morales, who leads the team with a .500 conference batting average after going 6-for-12 with a double.

The Broncos will look to put pressure on San Diego at the plate, after the Toreros gave up a total of 29 runs to Loyola Marymount two weeks ago. In return, Santa Clara will need to take advantage of their opportunities and keep errors to a minimum.

The series is scheduled to get underway at Marsalli Park on Saturday, April 14 with games at noon and 2:00 p.m., weather permitting, with Sunday's games set to start at the same times.
