14 Softball Players Honored Academically

June 25, 2009

Santa Clara placed a conference-high 14 players on the 2009 Pacific Coast Softball Conference Commissioner's Honor Roll, PCSC Commissioner Wendy Guthrie announced Thursday. It is the most Santa Clara has had on the honor roll since 2005 when it placed 15 on the list.

To be eligible for the honor roll, a student-athlete must have been eligible to participate during the 2009 season and recorded at least a 3.0 GPA during the 2008-09 academic year.

"I am so impressed with this team and how hard they work in the classroom. I am thrilled to see them get the much-deserved recognition they deserve," said Santa Clara head coach Lisa Mize. "This team is a really driven group of young ladies that take a lot of pride in their academic success. They know how to manage their time, stay focused and also stay organized throughout the year especially during season. They also have great study habits!"
