Santa Clara Splits Doubleheader With Princeton

SAN JOSE, Calif. - The Santa Clara women's softball team, after pushing the start of the games back three hours to wait for the fields to be playable, finally got to play in the San Jose State South Bay Super Series. The Broncos split today's doubleheader with Princeton.

Complete game information is not available at this time, but Santa Clara took the first game, 8-6, and fell in the second game 8-6.

In the first game junior pitcher Jenna Fong got her first win of the season and sophomores Briana Knight and Kristin Welsh hit home runs. In the second game, senior Kaitlyn Rauschnot was charged with the loss in the circle and sophomore Catherine Surane hit a home run.

Tomorrow's South Bay Super Series finale against Cal State Fullerton, which was scheduled for 11:30 a.m., has been moved up to 9:30 a.m. at San Jose PAL Stadium.
