Santa Clara Softball Has Three Players Garner All-PCSC Honors

SANTA CLARA, Calif. – Santa Clara University's softball program had three players earn Pacific Coast Softball Conference (PCSC) All-Coastal Division honors. Senior outfielder Briana Knight (Fairfield, Calif./Angelo Rodriguez HS), sophomore utility player Stephanie Fisher (Tracy, Calif./Tracy HS) and junior shortstop Alyssa Jepsen (Redwood City, Calif./Notre Dame, Belmont) all drew praise from the league's coaches.

Knight was named a First Team All-Coastal Division outfielder for the third consecutive season. She finished her career No. 2 all-time at Santa Clara in homeruns (30), RBI (109) and slugging percentage (.523). She also now ranks No. 3 in career doubles (33). This spring, Knight led the Broncos in homers (9) and RBI (38), which both rank among Santa Clara's all-time top 5 totals for a single-season.

Knight was the only Bronco player to start in all 54 games – registering a hit in 31 of those 54 outings. She led the team in multiple RBI games and hit .323 during the PCSC schedule, homering six times and driving in 18 runs in 20 games.

Fisher, who hit .317 against PCSC pitching as a freshman last season, was terrific for SCU again as a sophomore. She was named an All-PCSC Second Team honoree. Fisher hit .347 overall this season and her 13 doubles and .510 slugging percentage rank among the best-ever single-season stats in school history. Fisher ripped PCSC pitching, posting a .382 league batting average with 21 hits in 20 games.

Jepsen was equally impressive, posting a .409 batting average and .500 on-base percentage against PCSC pitching. Jepsen was named an All-PCSC Honorable Mention in her first season playing for the Broncos. Jepsen solidified SCU's middle-infield as the everyday shortstop and leadoff hitter. She led the team with a .355 average overall, hit .346 with runners in scoring position and drew 27 walks, second-best all-time in single-season school history.
