SANTA CLARA, Calif. – Saturday, February 9, 2013 marks a significant moment in Santa Clara University softball history. The team, the athletic department and the campus community will be celebrating 'Opening Day' at the University's brand new on-campus softball facility. The Broncos will be playing a double-header against the University of the Pacific, beginning at 11 a.m.

"Can't tell you how excited we are to be on-campus for the first time in SCU softball history," said fifth-year SCU head softball coach Lisa Mize on Wednesday. "We are looking forward to the celebration. Thanks in advance for all the support we have received. Again, could not be more excited for the weekend it is really special for us."
TICKET UPDATE: Limited tickets are available for Saturday's season-opener at the brand new SCU Softball Field, 500 El Camino Real, Santa Clara, Calif. 95053. If tickets are still available, fans can purchase them online up until Saturday at 8 a.m., however the event is expected to sell out. Only cash or checks will be accepted at the gates, which will open at 10 a.m. For more information on ticket availability please contact the SCU ticket office directly at (408) 554-4660.
PARKING/CONCESSIONS: Free parking will be available adjacent to the SCU Softball Field, in the main Leavey Center Parking Lot. Additional free parking can be accessed on El Camino Real, which runs parallel with, and is just beyond, the right field fence. No outside food will be allowed inside the main gates of the SCU Softball Field, however concessions will be available for purchase.
