Softball Game At Stanford Moves to 6 pm

Santa Clara will play its final softball game of the season at No. 16 Stanford on Tues., May 8 in Palo Alto.

The Broncos are 8-45 overall and 5-19 in PCSC play.  On Sunday Santa Clara's softball team rallied from a 4-1 deficit in game two and defeated San Diego 5-4 for a split of doubleheader. San Diego took game one 6-0.

On Saturday freshman Ciara Gonzales tossed her first career shutout allowing just three San Diego hits and the Broncos snapped a 13-game losing streak with a 1-0 win in the first game of a doubleheader.

San Diego avoided the sweep by returning the favor with a 1-0 win in game two behind Jenny Lahitte, who allowed six hits and struckout nine Santa Clara batters for her 10th win of the season.

No. 16 Stanford softball team defeated No. 12 California, 7-5, Sunday, at Levine-Fricke Field. The win gave the Cardinal its first series sweep over the Bears in school history. Stanford enters the Tuesday evening game with at 35-17, 12-9 Pac-12.
