SANTA CLARA, Calif. – With the season about to get underway, Santa Clara softball had two players named to the Preseason All-West Coast Conference Team. Seniors Stephanie Fisher and Kelly Scribner were the two Broncos selected.
"It is great to see two of our key players recognized by the WCC softball coaches," said Santa Clara head coach Lisa Mize. "It is a testament that our program is moving in the right direction and our recruiting culture is changing talent."
Fisher led the Broncos in almost every offensive category in 2013 while starting all 54 games. She hit .320 with a .420on-base percentage and a .487 slugging percentage. She added three home runs, two triples, 12 doubles, and 15 RBI while scoring 17 runs and going 3-3 in stolen base attempts.
Scribner played in all 54 games while making 53 starts in 2013. She hit .219 in 146 at-bats which was the second highest total on the team. Scribner added five doubles, six RBI and scored six runs.
