Freshman softball player Amanda Delfino (AD) is ready and excited for her first season as a Bronco. Delfino opens up about her team's goals and what she is looking forward too.
SCB: Why did you choose Santa Clara University?
AD: I chose Santa Clara because of its great reputation academically and athletically. When choosing a college, I wanted to be a part of a school that would provide for my academic curiosity and also allow me to continue my athletic interests. Santa Clara has a history of creating students with a passion for learning on and off the field.
SCB: What are you looking forward to the most for your first upcoming season?
AD: What I am looking forward to most in this upcoming season is to be able to play some strong competition. We have the opportunity to play some top-notch teams and compete with them.
SCB: What are some goals your team is trying to achieve this season?
AD: Some goals we have for the upcoming season are to win the WCC and to prove our competence as a strong program on the West Coast.
SCB: How do you plan on impacting your team this year as a freshman?
AD: As a freshman, I plan on having a positive impact on my team by working hard to be successful on the field. I also plan on pushing the upper classman so that we can all grow as a team and build our program. By leading by example, our team will be able to have some great success this year.
SCB: Even though you have a long time ahead of you, do you have any future plans with your psychology major?
AD: I have no specific plans yet! I know that I would like to pursue a profession working with young adults or teenagers. But I will see where the next couple years take me!
