Softball Hires Breezy Bernard as Volunteer Assistant CoachSeptember 17, 2015Santa Clara softball has hired former Bronco Breezy Bernard at the volunteer assistant coach. Bernard graduated with a degree in Marketing in 2015 and is attending graduate school at Santa Clara. She will work primarily with the catchers and hitters.

Athletes Graduating in 2016, 2017, 2018 & 2019 Come Out for Santa Clara Softball Prospect CampJune 23, 2015This three-day camp is designed for the student-athlete who aspires to play at the Collegiate level. Campers will have the opportunity to receive instruction as well as showcase their skills in front of the Santa Clara coaching staff and several other qualified instructors. Players will have a great opportunity to get a feel for the SCU campus, coaching staff, and our Bronco softball program.

Softball Concludes Winningest Season in Nine YearsJune 01, 2015Santa Clara softball continued its rise in 2015 by winning the most games under head coach Lisa Mize and the most since 2006 when the Broncos won 24 contests. The freshman class produced big results for Santa Clara, giving hope to the continued growth of the program. The veterans etched their names in the Santa Clara record books as well while several key pieces will be returning to the Mission campus in 2016.

Six Broncos Nab All-WCC Softball HonorsMay 14, 2015Santa Clara softball had six players honored on the All-WCC Teams as announced Thursday. Junior Casandra Padilla was named First-Team while freshman Ellie Fisher was named Second Team. Seniors Breezy Bernard and Jordan Newell, junior Ciara Gonzales, and sophomore Geenamarie Bonilla were Honorable Mention.

Five Softball Players Honored by WCC for AcademicsMay 08, 2015After finishing the season last weekend, Santa Clara softball had five players honored by the WCC for their work in the classroom. Taylor Bojorquez, Ashley Haney, Jenna Krummen, and Jordan Newell were named to the WCC All-Academic Team while Amanda Delfino was Honorable Mention. The five honorees tied with BYU and Saint Mary’s for the most on the team.

Softball Drops Game on Senior DayMay 02, 2015On Senior Day, Santa Clara softball fell to BYU by a final of 8-0 in five innings. The Broncos finish 15-35 on the season and 4-11 in the WCC while the Cougars are 37-10 and 12-0 in conference play.

Softball Falls Twice to BYUMay 01, 2015Kicking off the final weekend of the season, Santa Clara softball fell to BYU by a final of 4-0 and 5-0. The Broncos are now 15-34 on the season and 4-10 in the WCC while the Cougars are now 36-10 and 11-0 in conference play. The win in game two clinched the WCC title for BYU.

Softball Finishes Season at San Jose State, vs. BYU; Senior Day Saturday at 12April 27, 2015Heading into the final week of the season, Santa Clara softball travels down the street to face San Jose State on Tues., April 28 at 4 p.m. in the final non-conference game of the season. The Broncos then return home to face BYU Fri., May 1 at 4 and 6 p.m. and Sat., May 2 at 12 p.m. for Senior Day. After the game there will be the annual Senior BBQ in Alumni Park. Santa Clara is 14-32 on the season and 4-8 in WCC play.
