Full Tournament Schedule

SANTA CLARA, Calif. – Santa Clara softball returns to action this weekend with the five team, 12-game Santa Clara Invitational beginning Friday at 9 a.m. The Broncos welcome Creighton, South Dakota, Illinois-Chicago, and Weber State to the SCU Softball Stadium.

Last week Santa Clara picked up wins over Seattle on Saturday and Sunday but fell to Montana twice.

The Broncos are 0-6 all-time vs. Creighton and 4-5 all-time vs. Illinois-Chicago. They have never faced South Dakota or Weber State.

THE BRONCOS
Santa Clara (2-4) is hitting .231 as a team with nine doubles. The Broncos have scored 16 runs while slugging .288 with a .277 on-base percentage.

Morgan Modesto leads the team with a .412 batting average and five doubles. She is tied for the team lead with three RBIs and has scored three runs. Ellie Fisher is hitting .273 and has a team-high three steals in three chances while leading with four runs scored. Geenamarie Bonilla is hitting .316 with two RBI and three runs scored.

In the circle the Broncos have a 3.33 ERA. They have struck out 25 and walked 16 in 42 innings while tossing three complete games.

Micaela Vierra has made three starts and has two complete games with a win and a 2.37 ERA. She has a team-high 16 strikeouts in a team-best 20 2/3 innings. Aubree Kim has tossed 14 innings in three games. She has made one relief appearance and thrown one complete game with eight strikeouts.

THE FLAMES
Illinois-Chicago (7-2) is hitting .320 as a team with six triples and 11 doubles. The Flames have posted a .387 OBP and are slugging .421.

Lexi Watts is hitting a team-high .467 with two triples and a double. She has scored seven runs and driven in four. Tiana Mack-Miller is hitting .414 with two RBIs and seven runs scored while Kayla Wedl is hitting .407 with a team-high nine runs scored and six RBIs. Wedl has hit three triples and three doubles.

In the circle UIC has a 1.17 team ERA in 60 innings. The Flames have struck out 44 and walked 32.

Elaine Heflin is 4-0 and hasn't surrendered an earned run in four starts with three complete games and two shutouts. She has struck out 29 in 25 innings. Karissa Frazier has a 1.11 ERA and a 2-2 record. In four starts she has three complete games and one shutout with 10 strikeouts.

THE COYOTES
South Dakota (2-5) is hitting .238 as a team with one home run and four doubles. The Coyotes have posted a .324 OBP and a .280 slugging percentage.

Shelby Keil leads the team with a .333 batting average and has scored three runs with two RBIs while knocking a double. Jessica Rogers is batting .313 with an RBI and Jamie Holscher and Morgan Vasa are bothing batting .300.

The Coyotes have a 4.72 ERA in 43 innings with 19 strikeouts and 15 walks.

Ally Wiegand has made five starts with three complete games and a shutout. She is 2-3 with a 2.75 ERA in 28 innings and has 19 strikeouts against just three walks. Megan Green has appeared in four games and made one start. She is 0-1 with 4.94 ERA in 11 1/3 innings.

THE WILDCATS
Weber State (1-7-1) is hitting .256 as a team with three home runs, one triple, and 10 doubles. The Wildcats have posted a .294 OBP with and a .343 slugging percentage.

Sara Hingsberer is hitting .440 with a team-high five runs scored. She has a home run and three doubles to go with four RBIs. Sadie Blacker leads the team with five RBIs and has a home run while batting .250. KyRae Kogianes and Takesha Saltern are both hitting .320 with three runs scored.

Weber State has a 7.57 team ERA in 57 1/3 innings with 22 strikeouts and 30 walks.

Kirtlyn Bohling is 0-6 with a 4.81 ERA in six appearances covering 27 2/3 innings. She has started five games with three complete games and struck out 16. Tatiana Su'esu'e has tossed 21 2/3 innings with six strikeouts and 14 walks. She has a 9.37 ERA in six appearances and four starts with a complete game.

THE BLUE JAYS
Creighton (2-8) is hitting just .110 as a team and has scored 16 runs. The Blue Jays have hit two home runs and one triple while posing a .181 OBP and a .143 slugging percentage.

Anna O'Gorman leads the team with a .217 batting average and is tied for the team lead with three RBIs. Tash Coffiel also has three RBIs and is hitting .160. Aujanae McCoy leads the team with four runs scored.

The Blue Jays have a 5.08 team ERA in 60 2/3 innings with 33 strikeouts and 40 walks.

Bryana Clark has appeared in seven games and made five starts with two complete games and one shutout. She is 2-3 with a team-low 2.39 ERA in 29 1/3 innings with 18 strikeouts. Michael Hylton has appeared in seven games and made four starts with one complete game. She has an 8.52 ERA in 23 innings and has 14 strikeouts to go with 26 walks.

Parking: For weekday games, the Leavey Center lot, located on Accolti Way off El Camino Real, is free beginning one hour prior to first pitch. Any other parking facility on campus will be subject to normal daily rates or restrictions, including the main structure, located on Palm Drive.
