Softball Plays Two Midweek Games

SANTA CLARA, Calif. – After starting off West Coast Conference play on the right foot, Santa Clara softball plays a pair of midweek games. The Broncos travel to Cal Wednesday at 4 p.m. and host Fresno State Thursday at 6 p.m.

Last week the Broncos beat Sacramento State 2-1 on Tuesday and took two of three at Saint Mary's to start conference play.

THE BRONCOS
Santa Clara (10-24, 2-1 WCC) is hitting .257 as a team with a .312 on-base percentage and a .334 slugging percentage. The Broncos have scored 107 runs with six home runs, four triples, and 42 doubles.

Ellie Fisher, the WCC Player of the Week, is third in the WCC with a .385 batting average and is second with 26 runs scored. She also is tops in the conference with 20 steals in 22 attempts and has added two triples, a double, and four RBIs.

Geenamarie Bonilla is hitting .330 with a team-leading three home runs and 18 RBIs. She has scored 12 runs and also leads the Broncos with 10 doubles. Kelsie Barnard is hitting .313 with 16 RBIs. She has scored four runs and hit four doubles.

In the circle, Micaela Vierra leads the Broncos in ERA (3.76), wins (5), complete games (3), innings pitched (70 2/3), and strikeouts (39). Aubree Kim leads the team with 21 appearances and 11 starts. She has also tossed three complete games and has fanned 36 in 61 2/3 innings. Ciara Gonzalez has saved a team-high three games.

THE BEARS
Cal (22-13, 3-8 PAC 12) is hitting .269 as a team with a .344 OBP and a .358 slugging percentage. The Bears have scored 148 runs with seven home runs, eight triples, and 42 doubles.

Jazmyn Jackson is hitting a team-high .340 and leads the team with 24 RBIs and 13 doubles. She has also cored 18 runs. Lindsay Rood has scored 30 runs to lead Cal and is hitting .330 with two home runs and six RBIs.

Zoe Conley has tossed 126 1/3 innings with a 12-8 record and a 2.94 ERA. She has 13 complete games and four shutouts to go with three saves. Conley also leads her team with 93 strikeouts.

THE BULLDOGS
Fresno State (24-15, 5-6 Mountain West) is hitting .291 as a team with a .385 OBP and a .454 slugging percentage. The Bulldogs have scored 227 runs with 32 home runs, 13 triples, and 46 doubles.

Morgan Howe leads the team with a .443 batting average and has hit four home runs while driving in 30 runs and scoring 22. Savannah Michellon leads the team with eight home runs and 35 RBIs. She has a .300 batting average and has scored 19 runs. Lindsey Willmon has scored 29 runs to lead the team and is hitting .246.

Kamalani Dung has tossed a team-high 142 2/3 innings with 16 complete games and five shutouts. She is 15-9 with a 2.36 ERA and has struck out 123 while picking up two saves. Michellon has a 3.94 ERA in 76 1/3 innings with four complete games.

Gates to the Santa Clara Softball Stadium, as well as its ticket booth, are open one hour prior to the start of the game.

Parking: For weekday games, the Leavey Center lot, located on Accolti Way off El Camino Real and adjacent to the Santa Clara Softball Stadium, is free beginning one hour prior to first pitch. Any other parking facility on campus will be subject to normal daily rates or restrictions, including the main structure, located on Palm Drive.
